XM's Mandel shifts to OgilvyOne post

Ken Mandel, XM CEO/regional director, is moving to OgilvyOne as head of its digital strategy, following the merger of XM with WPP sister marketing communications company RMG Connect, the strategic customer relationship arm of JWT.

As vice-president of digital for OgilvyOne, Asia-Pacific, Mandel will report to Kent Wertime, president of OgilvyOne Asia-Pacific, and will take responsibility for interactive efforts across 11 markets, effective next month. Mandel has also been named to the newly-created position of CEO, media, content and engaging channels, to work across OgilvyInteractive, XM and RMG Connect for these services. "I will look at non-competitive synergies in the digital area, such as digital procurement and training," said Mandel, who takes up his new role after six years with XM. In addition, Jerry Smith, director of North Asia, will take on the vice-president, director of operations role at OgilvyOne. Smith will spearhead consulting efforts and develop the agency's production capabilities, as well as work alongside Wertime on new business. Meanwhile, former regional director for Southern Asia at OgilvyOne, Paul Davies, was recently appointed president Asia-Pacific to head up the new RMG Connect/XM network.
