The blog platform Xanga.com is the second-most popular website in Hong Kong, with a 2.58 per cent market share, according to Hitwise.
Bob Hiler, Xanga’s vice-president for advertising, said the partnership was a natural fit for the company as it sought to leverage its strength in the market. Pixel Media, which Hiler described as the leader in its field because of its many big-name clients, would also act as Xanga’s “eyes and ears” in Hong Kong.
“It’s someone we can go to for frank views on the Hong Kong market,” he said. Hiler wouldn’t say how much the deal was worth but said there is a sales incentive.
