WPP primed to buy into Vietnam's T&A

HO CHI MINH CITY - WPP is set to strike an equity deal with T&A Communications, one of Vietnam's oldest PR agencies.

The acquisition, which would build on a working relationship T&A has had with WPP’s Ogilvy PR since 2001, is expected to be completed by the end of March.

Hanoi-based T&A has provided Ogilvy PR with local insight and links to Government clients, while Ogilvy has provided help with specialist areas such as financial and technology PR.

However, Alan Couldrey, regional director of Ogilvy Indochina, said T&A will remain a separate entity and both parties are free to pitch against one another.

Ten-year old T&A, founded by former journalist Nguyen Thanh Son, has 54 staff.
