WPP hotshop set to launch region-wide

WPP is taking its Mumbai-based creative hotshop Contract regional, launching operations in Hong Kong, Bangkok, Malaysia and Pakistan.

In Hong Kong, the holding company has merged its Batey Hong Kong and Conquest operations, headed by managing director and chief creative officer Charles Wong, who said the office would operate independently to handle PCCW Mobile, HSBC, Singapore Airlines and Mercedes-Benz. Patrick Pitcher, South Asia area director at JWT, said Conquest Bangkok would be renamed Contract, while Contract Pakistan would roll out this month, followed by Malaysia. A Singapore launch is also on the cards. "In Singapore, however, Contract will definitely not be part of Batey," Pitcher added.
