WPP hotshop nabs Sunday from TBWA

WPP creative hotshop Contract has secured Sunday Communications' brief, strengthening its hold on Hong Kong dominant telecoms player PCCW's brand portfolio. <BR><BR>The agency, which already handles PCCW's channel business and mobile services, took the Sunday brief from incumbent TBWA without a pitch. According to a source: "Contract previously handled the launch of PCCW's 3G brand and the trial campaign is reported to have generated strong results." <BR><BR>Contract's appointment comes as PCCW's chairman Richard Li moves to sell his 23 per cent stake to a local financier for US$1.2 billion in a controversial deal.<BR><BR>Before the stake sale, Li had been in discussions on offers worth up to US$7 billion from Australian and US investment houses for the company's telecoms and media assets. <BR>
