WPP creates Gold for SIA pitch

SINGAPORE - WPP agencies Ogilvy and Bates have joined forces to create Gold, which will specifically be contesting the Singapore Airlines review.

Ogilvy Asia-Pacific co-chairman Tham Kai Meng (pictured) will head the new unit as chairman in tandem with regional Bates chief operating officer Digby Richards who will act as CEO. Both will continue to act in their current roles.

“It brings together a small group of the best talent from around the world specifically to manage the most outstanding communication for the SIA brand,” said Richards.

“(We) will announce our assembled global talent should Gold be successful in its bid for the airline.”
