World Vision appoints Universal McCann

SYDNEY - World Vision, Australia's largest international aid organisation, has appointed Universal McCann as its primary media buying agency. The agency won the account ahead of Starcom, which was one of the two agencies to make it to the final shortlist after a five-way pitch.

“Throughout the pitching process Universal McCann showed superior understanding of the unique and important work that we do, and the types of media communication we require,” said World Vision’s acting head of marketing, Cameron Watson.  “World Vision looks forward to working with the new agency and exploring the opportunities it has outlined.”

Universal McCann will implement a targeted multi-channel communications strategy to promote the work World Vision is doing to improve the conditions of health, water and sanitation and environmental practices within poor communities.

The partnership between World Vision and Universal McCann will commence immediately as they plan a strategy around a new child sponsorship and gift catalogue campaign for Christmas.
