W&K merges with A Advertising in Delhi

NEW DELHI - Wieden & Kennedy has merged with A Advertising to establish a presence in India.

The move was facilitated by Wieden & Kennedy’s recent appointment by Nokia. A’s founding members, V Sunil and Mohit Dhar Jayal, are now charged with building the global Nokia brand as well as servicing the brand’s local needs. Work on the account is to begin immediately.

Moving with Sunil and Mohit will be India’s most successful low-cost airline IndiGo (whose aircraft exterior and flight attendants’ uniforms the duo designed while at A), Royal Enfield Motorcycles, and India Tourism.
“It is always our goal when opening a new office to find talent in the local market that would embody the culture of Wieden & Kennedy,” said agency founder Dan Wieden.

“From the first time I chatted with both Sunil and Mohit, the synergies were obvious. Their success in India is unprecedented, and coupling that with our commitment to developing groundbreaking creative for our clients is what makes this union so exciting.”
