Popplewell, who has overseen both areas since March, will now focus on building the IPG firm’s technological portfolio, which includes clients such as Vantec, Samsung and Honeywell.
Joining from London-based agency Brunswick, where he held the position of associate director, Williamson will reportedly be responsible for developing Weber Shandwick’s credentials in the financial sector, working with clients such as PMI, RBSM Macquarie and the General Property Trust.
His past experience includes stints as a journalist at Bloomberg and at the BBC, and development of a range of corporate communications campaigns across areas including finance, telecommunications, FMCG, engineering and utilities.
