Weber Shandwick wins top awards

HONG KONG - Weber Shandwick capped a memorable year by picking up the coveted gold awards for Network of the Year and Campaign of the Year at Media's Asia-Pacific PR Awards 2006, held in Hong Kong last night.

The Interpublic Group-owned agency clinched Network of the Year for the first time in its history and matched last year's double winner - Burson-Marsteller - by also taking home Campaign of the Year, for client President Pharmaceutical Taiwan.

A 300-strong crowd also saw Hill & Knowlton Beijing clinch Consultancy of the Year, while Grayling Asia became the first winner of the new Mid-Sized Network of the Year category.

Industry veteran Martin Spurrier, chairman of Edelman Hong Kong, marked 35 years in the business by winning PR Professional of the Year.
