Weber Shandwick tipped for Millionaire Expo brief in Thailand

BANGKOK - Weber Shandwick is tipped to win a PR brief to promote the Thailand Millionaire Expo 2007, a luxury goods fair for the Kingdom's super-rich.

The decision has yet to be finalised, but the IPG agency is expected to see off challenges from two other undisclosed rivals. The Millionaire Expo, which has been running under different brand names in cities such as Shanghai, Moscow and Amsterdam since 2002, will be staged for the first time in Thailand at Bangkok's Royal Paragon Hall in November.

Event organiser Eurasia Entertainment & Events confirmed that 20 luxury brands had already signed up for the event, and would be used to attract other exhibitors, consumers and sponsors.

Shandwick's sister agency MRM is also contesting another pitch is to update Thailand Millionaire Expo's website, though the business is expected to go to Peter Sloper Design, a London-based shop which handles the event's web design projects in other markets.
