Earth Hour is an environmental awareness event that requests all households and businesses across the globe to switch of non-essential electricity for one hour. The objective of the campaign is to raise awareness on tackling climate change.
While Weber Shandwick has supported Earth Hour over the past two years via corporate outreach, its responsibilities this year has expanded to incorporate strategic counsel, media outreach and PR support for Earth Hour's 'Beyond the hour' campaign — calling on governments, businesses and individuals to make 'one change' for mother Earth.
Weber Shandwick is also tasked to increase the profile of Earth Hour in China through social media to attract participation in the event.
Earth Hour will be observed this year on 26 March at 8.30pm.
