Weber Shandwick lands Sun Life brief

ASIA-PACIFIC - Sun Life Financial has awarded its regional public relations brief to Weber Shandwick after a competitive pitch.

This marks the first time Sun Life has appointed a rostered PR consultancy. Work on the account will get underway in January, with Weber Shandwick’s Hong Kong office leading the business for Asia-Pacific. Sun Life’s VP of strategic marketing Rob Burr declined to comment.

The news follows the creation of Sun Life’s new regional strategic marketing group (RSMG) and the appointment of boutique creative shop GMT+8 to work alongside rostered agency of record TBWA (Media, 16 October).

Former TBWA regional planner for customer relationship marketing Alex Daniel has moved to RSMG as assistant VP of consumer insights, while Alan Davies, most recently head of campaign and database management with AXA, has joined as a management consultant.
