WEB BRIEFINGS: Yahoo to buy Kimo.com for USdollars 146m
<p>Internet search giant Yahoo is to acquire Taiwanese Web portal </p><p>Kimo.com for USdollars 146 million to complement its www.yahoo.com.tw </p><p>service. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Yahoo has been searching to boost its Asian presence, particularly in </p><p>markets such as China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>ACNielsen recently ranked Kimo the most popular site in Taiwan, while </p><p>Merrill Lynch named the site the market leader in Taiwan, with an 80 per </p><p>cent reach, ahead of competitor Yam.com. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
