Subscribers of The Wall Street Journal Online passed the 500,000
mark as of the end of last month.
In Asia-Pacific, the number of subscribers to www.WSJ.com increased 30
per cent over the past year.
WSJ began charging for its service business news and financial
information in late 1996.
The site features Briefing Books, which present 22,000 in-depth
background reports on companies around the world; the Tech Centre, which
offers coverage of technology companies, trends and developments; news
through CNBC/Dow Jones Business Video; Voice Events, as well as other
personalisation features.
