A new travel website AroundAsia.com has been launched with
simplicity and speed in mind.
The site has done away with unnecessary pictures, tips, videos and logos
in an effort to facilitate fast downloading of content.
The site does not require broadband access, and according to Mr Somkiat
Matthews, PR and business development manager of AroundAsia.com, the
company has adopted the simple philosophy of websites such as Google,
which "have used a simple and fast design to attract customers".
"There is no fluff, we sell hotels in Asia, and we deal with some of the
best hotels in each destination. We are a site for people who know what
they want and want to be able to find it quickly and as easily as
possible," Mr Matthews said.
AroundAsia.com deals directly with each hotel, skipping wholesale
networks.
It presently has an estimated 100 hotels online, with an additional 60
expected to join within the next three months.
