The biggest of the wins include the brand and creative account for major electronics retailer Hi-Sap, Hang Seng Bank’s new China business, and Panasonic washing machines. Accordingly, the agency has hired Sonia Shum from TBWA\Hakuhodo Beijing as group account director and Patrick Ha from Grey China as account director.
Both report directly to managing director Kenny Wong,
Shum has a broad 4As background and will lead an 11-strong unit that handles existing accounts such as Estée Lauder, along with two new Diageo wins — Dimple and Old Parr.
“Sonia’s new role is very challenging, as we need a jack-of-all-trades to develop a diversified new business portfolio,” said Wong.
Meanwhile, Ha will handle Heng Seng Bank, Chupa Chups, Omega and other FMCG accounts.
Other accounts that WE has won during the past month include Clinique, Leo, Gieves & Hawkes, United Laboratories, property company Yanlord and traditional Chinese medicine brand Ridache.
WE Beijing also landed Lane Crawford Beijing’s CRM assignment in a pitch against Grey Worldwide.
