Wanmo bolsters consulting arm

BEIJING - Chinese digital agency Wanmo Performance Advertising has named Shane Crombie (pictured) director of its ad agency consulting division.

He is charged with helping brands to integrate digital into their advertising strategies by incorporating consumer-targeting technology into clients’ operations.

Prior to joining Wanmo - which changed its name from Madeforchina last year - Crombie held the post of national digital director at Universal McCann China. He has also worked at Euro RSCG, Young & Rubicam, DDB and Carat Group in the West and China.

According to Wanmo chairman Byron Constable, Crombie’s appointment will strengthen the agency’s offering of targeted advertising capabilities.

“It is clear by now that the internet can be an extremely powerful tool for advertisers to reach and engage their target audiences in China. Yet the industry has struggled with making it simple, profitable and valuable for professional advertisers to tap into the internet’s full potential,” Constable said, noting that Crombie’s experience will better enable Wanmo to circumvent these obstacles.
