Wang takes charge of Euro RSCG North Asia

SHANGHAI - Former Ogilvy & Mather Greater China vice-chairman Joseph Wang has been hired by Euro RSCG to take on a newly-created position as North Asia chairman.

Wang, who will be responsible for overseeing operations in Korea, Japan and Greater China, joins the agency less than a month after departing Ogilvy.
Given his 13-year experience across Greater China, Wang is expected to focus on the markets of China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. His knowledge of acquiring and integrating local companies is also believed to have been instrumental in his hire.

"With Greater China being increasingly integrated from a business perspective and the surge in business and trade between China, Korea and Japan; creating a regional structure that encourages this growth is strategically important," said Wang, who will be based in Shanghai.

Euro RSCG Asia-Pacific CEO Olivier Pluquet pointed out that Wang's arrival would bolster the agency’s regional team, following the wins of Hershey's, Chivas and UPS this year. "Joe's expertise in Greater China, his proven ability to manage a diverse group of companies, and his personal experience in acquisition and integration of companies make him an invaluable asset to our regional team," said Pluquet.
