Walton departs MindShare Australia

SYDNEY - Chris Walton (pictured), CEO of MindShare Australasia, is stepping down after 12 years with the GroupM agency.

According to Ashutosh Srivastava, CEO of MindShare Asia-Pacific, the Australian business will now fall under current COO John Petropoulos and Sydney managing director Tracie Michael.

Ashutosh said: “Chris has made a very valuable contribution to MindShare over the last 12 years in Australia, China and across Asia-Pacific. I would like to personally thank Chris and express my appreciation for his commitment to MindShare in the region.”

Walton, a former managing director of the agency’s Shanghai operation, said: “After nearly five years of running the business in Australia, I had been in discussions with senior management about my next role within the organisation.”

“However, with a young son and the very recent arrival of a daughter my wife and I have decided to stay based in Australia for the foreseeable future. This therefore involved taking the very difficult decision of departing MindShare.”
