Walker Shop kicks off $2m campaign

HONG KONG - Multi-brand footwear retailer Walker Shop has launched a HK$10 million (US$1.8 million) marketing campaign, which includes the appointment of Chinese actress Kitty Zhang as its first brand ambassador for two years.

Hong Kong agency AT Creative Marketing Co has crafted four versions of the print campaign featuring Zhang, based around the concept that Walker facilitates the ‘pursuit of beauty’.

The print ads are now running in fashion and lifestyle magazines, including Jessica in Hong Kong and Modern Weekly in China, and mass newspapers, as well as in the MTR over the next two months. A ‘making-of’ video will be screened in all retail shops, follow by tram executions in January.

The footwear chain owns more than 500 retail outlets in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and has expanded its footprint with 20 franchised points-of-sale in China since July 2007 alone.
