Waechter leaves Shangri-La post

HONG KONG - Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts global chief marketing officer Martin Waechter has stepped down, in a move that coincides with senior management's rejection of a new advertising campaign developed by Euro RSCG network agency BETC Luxe.

Waechter, who was appointed to the role in March 2004, is leaving “to pursue personal interests”, according to a Shangri-La spokesperson.

His role will be filled by the recently appointed senior VP, sales and marketing, Barbara Pang.
