Voyage renames in confusion over local competitor

English-language travel magazine Voyage has been renamed Asia and Away, after a Chinese-language title launched with the same name.

An accompanying rebranding campaign is focusing on print, with both trade and consumer publications and on-ground merchandising.

Asia and Away is available in hotels throughout China, and at selected retail outlets in Hong Kong. Aimed at 25- to 39-year-olds, Asia and Away general manager Jodie Collins said its distribution tends to define its audience. "It's mostly read by business travellers staying in five-star hotels, travelling between cities in China," she said, adding that the revamped title has more pages and better photography.

Acquired by Tom Group's publishing arm in September 2004, the magazine was re-launched in January this year, with the name change taking place this month.
