Vigh moves to Europe CEO job

ZenithOptimedia (ZO) has promoted its Hong Kong head Andras Vigh to a newly-created regional CEO role overseeing Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Vigh, who helped rebuild ZO's Hong Kong operation after the original office shifted to WPP with its acquisition of Cordiant assets in 2003, is due to take up his new Prague-based role in the second quarter. Chris Skinner, who joined the agency last year after about five years with OMD, will take over as Hong Kong CEO next month. Skinner will be supported by Ada Wong, currently business director, who will be promoted to GM.

Sizeable European wins of the Nestlé, L'Oréal and Hyundai accounts prompted ZO to create the role overseeing the region's 21 offices, according to Vigh, who has been with the network for 12 years, six of which have been in Hong Kong. "We are looking at this region as the 'new Asia'. It's very diverse with some huge markets like Russia, Poland and Turkey and smaller countries like Estonia and Slovenia," he said.

Vigh is looking to extend a PR tool developed by the Hong Kong office to track and analyse advertising spend to determine media ROI, to the markets under his remit. "This tool, which currently covers 10 markets in Asia, is a fantastic fit with ZenithOptimedia's ROI positioning and I would like to extend it to Europe."
