Vietnam set to host Indochina awards

HO CHI MINH CITY - Vietnam will stage Indochina's first creative awards show, the Inchi Awards, in an event slated for early next year.

Entries are open to agencies in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, with a view to improving creative standards and motivating young advertising professionals in the fast-growing Southeast Asian sub-region.

The Inchis (inchiawards. com) are the brainchild of TBWA Vietnam ECD Birger Linke, who expects the event to be staged in Ho Chi Minh City within the first quarter of 2008. “At the moment, Vietnam lacks an awards show based on real creativity, recognised by international agencies. The Inchis will play an important role finding talent, which is the biggest obstacle facing progress in our market.”

The show will use the same entry categories as AdFest, and include a conference. Speakers and sponsors are yet to be confirmed.
