Vietnam government hires Ogilvy in anti-bureaucracy drive

HO CHI MINH CITY - Vietnam's Office of Government (OOG) has hired Ogilvy & Mather to communicate its efforts to tackle bureaucracy in the country.

The OOG is working with the US Agency for International Development's technical assistance programme to crack down on unnecessary bureaucracy created by legislation through an initiative called Project 30.

Ogilvy & Mather Vietnam's managing director, Katryna Mojica, said: "Project 30 is a huge step in terms of implementing public administration reform in Vietnam. Change is difficult if its purpose and benefits are not clearly understood. Ogilvy will work with the OOG and under the USAID technical assistance program to brand the project and develop communication aimed at key stakeholders as well as the general public."

The business was awarded to Ogilvy following a credentials presentation. The WPP agency has enjoyed a good relationship with the Vietnamese government since its award-winning campaign to encourage motorbike drivers to wear helmets.
