The appointments were announced shortly after the global win of LG and the hiring of Stephen Drummond as national planning director.
“Tsang and de Rosa are both seasoned professionals with great track records,” said Tom Kao, chairman of Y&R Greater China.
Tsang has more than seven years of agency experience in China, and was most recently group business director at McCann Erickson Guangming in Beijing. Prior to that, he was general manager at Leo Burnett in Guangzhou, and boasts 4As agency experience in Hong Kong with Saatchi & Saatchi, BBDO and Euro RSCG.
“We didn’t have a GM role in Y&R Beijing until Wei Wei Chen, our CEO, left three months ago,” said Kao.
“It’s a new post to beef up the operation. Tsang will take care of the day-to-day running of the office, senior level management and new business accounts.”
Meanwhile, de Rosa has more than 20 years of experience with major agencies, including McCann, DDB, Lintas and JWT. He was previously director of brand management at Leo Burnett Beijing, handling key accounts like Li Ning and China Construction Bank.
