Verghese quits TPL, back to Asian Bridge

<p>Mr Vijay Verghese has re-acquired Holiday Asia from TPL Corporation </p><p>and is running the publication under his own company, Asian Bridge </p><p>Media. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The move also means that Mr Verghese has quit as TPL's group publisher </p><p>and editor-in-chief. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Mr Verghese joined TPL last August when it acquired Holiday Asia, where </p><p>he was also tasked with overseeing Asian Business and the travel title, </p><p>Travel News Asia (which was shut down last December, barely two months </p><p>after being relaunched). </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Asian Business and Holiday Asia have been more successful, however, with </p><p>Mr Verghese citing a sharp rise in revenue for Asian Business, which was </p><p>relaunched with a fresh design and editorial focus last year. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Nonetheless, Mr Verghese said he did not have enough time to work on two </p><p>titles simultaneously. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"Asian Business has taken up a lot of my time but it has taken off. The </p><p>March revenue, for example, was 93 per cent up on February," he told </p><p>MEDIA. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"I have come to the point where I believe that I need to spend more time </p><p>with Holiday Asia because I think the consumer travel market has come of </p><p>age and this is why I have re-acquired it." </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
