Mr Vijay Verghese has re-acquired Holiday Asia from TPL Corporation

and is running the publication under his own company, Asian Bridge

Media.

The move also means that Mr Verghese has quit as TPL's group publisher

and editor-in-chief.

Mr Verghese joined TPL last August when it acquired Holiday Asia, where

he was also tasked with overseeing Asian Business and the travel title,

Travel News Asia (which was shut down last December, barely two months

after being relaunched).

Asian Business and Holiday Asia have been more successful, however, with

Mr Verghese citing a sharp rise in revenue for Asian Business, which was

relaunched with a fresh design and editorial focus last year.

Nonetheless, Mr Verghese said he did not have enough time to work on two

titles simultaneously.

"Asian Business has taken up a lot of my time but it has taken off. The

March revenue, for example, was 93 per cent up on February," he told

MEDIA.

"I have come to the point where I believe that I need to spend more time

with Holiday Asia because I think the consumer travel market has come of

age and this is why I have re-acquired it."
