HONG KONG: Vijay Verghese has resigned as chief executive officer

of Venture Asia Holdings and its subsidiary Asian Bridge Media (ABM),

which publish four travel titles in Asia.

Verghese will also step down as editor and publisher of Holiday Asia, a

consumer travel magazine, which he launched in October 1997 under

ABM.

However, Verghese will retain his stake in ABM, which has been

majority-owned by Venture Asia since June 2000. Following the

acquisition, Verghese relaunched Venture titles TravelAsia, Tourism Asia

and SilkWinds. He said the group's combination of trade and consumer

travel titles "were proving increasingly attractive with

advertisers".

Venture Asia business development director Aravind Vasu said he would

double up as interim CEO while the company evaluated the structure going

forward.
