A Hong Kong native with over 16 years' experience, Chan has been stationed in Beijing for nine years, working with various public relations and marketing agencies. Most recently she was deputy general manager at Waggener Edstrom and prior to that she also worked for Hill & Knowlton as director of market communications in North Asia.
Chan, who started work at the Beijing office this week, said she decided to join MS&L because it still has a lot of foreseeable opportunities to grow, especially in digital communications.
"I have seen Greater China rise in global economic importance and I'm excited to join an agency that has navigated companies through this complex change with effective and regionally relevant communications solutions," she said.
In her new role, Chan will be responsible for developing strategic marketing communications programmes for multinational and domestic clients including Coca-Cola and World Gold Council. She will work closely with Interactive Communications, MS&L's partner in Taiwan for more than eight years.
"Venus’ diverse experience across both PR and marketing gives her unique insights into the communication requirements of clients in the Greater China region,” said Glenn Osaki, president of MS&L Group Asia.
Chan said she felt excited to rejoin Publicis Groupe. Before relocating to the mainland, she was associate account director of integrated marketing communications practice at Leo Burnett in Hong Kong.
