Universal snags ICI's $1.3m India media account
<p>NEW DELHI: Universal McCann has won ICI India's estimated US$1.3 million account from incumbent RH Swamy/BBDO, which has retained the </p><p>creative brief. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>It battled with Starcom India, MindShare, Lowe Lintas & Partners' </p><p>Initiative Media and DDB Needham associate Mudra Communications for the </p><p>assignment. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>With India's most popular festival, Diwali, around the corner, ICI is </p><p>looking to create an impact through media to push sales during this </p><p>crucial time of the year. India's paint market is estimated to generate </p><p>$90 million in annual sales. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>ICI India's general manager for marketing, Hina Nagarajan, credited the </p><p>win on the effort shown by the agency to tackle key issues in the paint </p><p>market and the efficiency of its media delivery mechanism. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>ICI's appointment is the second media agency shift to occur in India's </p><p>paint industry after market leader Asian Paints replaced MindShare with </p><p>Carat. India's decorative paint segment is valued at close to $63 </p><p>million, but consumption of paint is lower than other Asian markets. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
