Most recently with garment manufacturer Clover as a consultant, Lam replaces previous MD Roid Sin.
Her appointment follows the naming of David Morgan, former MEC Asia-Pacific CEO and regional brand director on Intel for Euro RSCG, as chief of the media agency's regional operations (Media, 28 July). "Driving new business is always part of the game, but I think for now my key perspective is to solidify the quality of the communications planning and creativity," said Lam.
She added that a core part of her responsibility would involve driving Universal McCann in three specific areas: sustainable communications, accountable creativity and engagement and innovation.
"I am sure that when we get these three areas right, once we do the right things, the new business will follow," she said.
Lam was part of the team responsible for establishing Maxus in Hong Kong, following a seven-year tenure with ZenithOptimedia.
She will start her new role in early September.
