HONG KONG - Asia-Pacific consumers are embracing the mobile phone as an entertainment and lifestyle platform faster than their European or North American counterparts, according to Universal McCann's global Mobility Study 2007.

Key results show 24 per cent of users in Japan are now using their handsets to access the internet, compared with eight per cent in the US and six per cent in the UK, with similar trends discovered in the areas of video calling, using a handset as a payment device and live TV among others.
