United animated campaign ahead of pack on tracks

United Airlines has unveiled the first use of Submedia's motion picture tunnel technology in Asia, on the Hong Kong MTR route.

The 20-second 'Passage to America' ad, which appears as a fluid motion picture to MTR passengers, depicts a animated flight to the US over several familiar landscapes, creating the sensation that the viewer is watching from inside an aircraft. The ad marks the start of United's new regional campaign, which will be based around the tagline, 'It's time to fly'. "As a believer of innovations, United always looks for creative ways to serve and communicate with our customers," said Wyn Li, United's general manager, sales and marketing at United Airlines in Hong Kong.Creative for the campaign was handled by Fallon International, with MEC Hong Kong on media.
