Unilever PR roster raises conflict concerns

GLOBAL - Unilever's new global PR roster, which the FMCG giant is finalising, is expected to have major conflict implications for its agencies in Asia.

Unilever is believed to have drawn up a list of conflicting companies that includes Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola, Danone, L’Oréal, Kraft, Heinz, Pepsi and Estée Lauder. It is believed that agencies which handle corporate work for any of the 14 conflcting firms may not then work for Unilever in the same market. A Unilever spokesman said: “It makes sense for rosters to be reviewed for potential conflicts of interest.”

It is thought that key Unilever agencies Edelman and Ogilvy PR will join the roster.
