Unilever marketer joins IPG Mediabrands Australia

AUSTRALIA - Sharon Parker, Unilever marketing director for Australia and New Zealand, has been appointed as executive director of marketing services for Mediabrands Australia, effective 15 October.

In this newly created role, Parker will be called on to assist the group with client-focussed communications and business analysis. She will be working with the network's client teams across all disciplines and report to IPG Mediabrands Australia executive chairman Henry Tajer,

According to Tajer, her task is to "assist in how we engage with clients and that our communications and understanding of client issues and needs are completely clear". 

At Unilever, Parker led the marketing and business agenda for the FMCG giant's personal care portfolio which includes market-leading brands such as Rexona, Lynx, Dove and Vaseline.

During her tenure, Lynx won the Cannes Lions Grand Prix in 2006 and two Gold Lions in the Direct and Promo categories. Parker was also involved in the Rexona Australia’s 'Greatest athlete' branded content TV series and 'Invisible ad' for Lynx.
