Unilever broadens regional media review

SEOUL - Unilever has added to its ongoing media review in Malaysia (Media, 31 May), pitching its smaller Korea account, which is estimated at US$15 to 20 million, with a Taiwan review slated for years' end.

Incumbent Korean media shop Grape will defend its hold on the business against several other unnamed agencies, with presentations expected to take place in the first week of August. A decision expected by the end of that month. Sources indicated Taiwan, which is currently handled by Initiative, would also be reviewed by the end of the year.

For the US$30 million Malaysia account, incumbent network MindShare is facing off against Omnicom Media Group, as part of the personal care giant’s policy of reviewing its agency relationships every three years. Presentations are due to take place next week, with the winner expected to be announced in early August.
