UM wins Australian Government brief

CANBERRA - Universal McCann has been reappointed as the Australian Federal Government's lead media agency.

The agency scooped the three-year contract following an open tender process overseen by the Department of Finance and Deregulation.

Universal McCann will oversee all planning and buying for Federal Government departments and agencies covered by the Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997.

Lindsey Tanner, minister of finance and deregulation, said he wanted an agency that could “provide cost-effective campaign advertising services that will result in the Australian Government and the taxpayer getting the best overall value for money.”

Henry Tajer (pictured), president of Univbersal McCann Asia-Pacific, commented: “This is a significant win for us, and it is one of many key steps forward in embracing the opportunities in this region, collaborating closely with clients and partners, in delivering the most effective solution for the clients.”
