Ultra Milk searches for agency partner in Indonesia

JAKARTA - Ultrajaya Milk Industry, Indonesia's largest producer of aseptic drinks, is searching for an agency to handle its Ultra Milk brand.

According to a source close to the client, the company is currently going through agency credentials after which it will invite four agencies to pitch. The incumbent is Bates141 Indonesia, but the WPP agency confirmed that it will not be pitching.

The 50-year old company's products include liquid milk, fruit juices, tea, health drinks and tropical fruit juice concentrates. Last year Unilever Indonesia acquired the Buavita brand of fruit-based vitality drinks from Ultra.

Bates’ managing director Robert McBrain also confirmed that his agency will stop servicing Ultrajaya later this year. Bates and Ultrajaya mutually decided to part with after the company’s flagship drink Bauvita was acquired by Unilever. Bates will continue to handle Bauvita.
