Two pull out of NETS pitch

SINGAPORE - O&M and local shop Alchemy Partnership have declined to participate in the ongoing NETS pitch while Saatchi & Saatchi and BBDO are reported to have joined the fray, which is expected to have two more network agencies.

Alchemy currently handles the creative for NETS while Mindshare handles the media. It is not clear whether the pitch is for the entire account or for a project. According to a source, NETS initially pitched out a project and is seeking to hire an agency based on the performance.

Michael Liew, the managing partner of Alchemy, confirmed that his agency had declined to participate.

Separately, Alchemy has hired seven people including account director Joanne Hong, after acquiring new business from a Middle-Eastern company. It is looking to expand in the Gulf region.

Liew said: “Opening an Alchemy office there is a distinct possibility in 2009 so we’re still looking to build our team with the right talents.”

Liew added that he was also in the process of establishing an entity to focus on large-scale content development.
