Tsunami-hit Thai hotel taps TQPR

The ultra-exclusive Rayavadee resort in Krabi has appointed TQPR as its communications partner in Thailand. A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, Rayavadee recently completed refurbishment of facilities which sustained damage in the South Asian tsunami.

"Besides raising the profile and enhancing awareness of Rayavadee, TQPR will also counsel and assist with special events, direct media relations and promotional and sponsorship activities," said Maetavarin Maneekulpan, senior consultant, TQPR (Thailand). TQPR, which is the first PR agency the resort has hired, was appointed without a competitive pitch. The agency also has the Samed Group as a client in hospitality industry and has, in the past, handled The Peninsula Bangkok. "We are looking to expand our footprint in this industry and are talking to other hotels and resorts," said Maetavarin. Rayavadee has also appointed PR agencies in Hong Kong, Japan and Europe to get the traffic back into Krabi and Rayavadee. Paul van Frank, the resort's chief operating officer, said: "We are certainly looking forward to an exciting time ahead working with TQPR to further enhance the awareness of Rayavadee as one of the world's most exclusive hideaways."
