Tribal DDB names Ng as Shanghai MD

SHANGHAI - Jit Hoong Ng (pictured) has been appointed as managing director of Tribal DDB in Shanghai, replacing Diana Jim, who left the post and the industry six months ago.

Ng has over 15 years of experience in the new media and communications business. Most recently, he was managing director of RMG Connect in Beijing for almost two years.

He will report to Amanda King, Tribal DDB Asia-Pacific president, and Dick van Motman, president and CEO of DDB China Group.

“My role is to continue to work with our clients so that their creative digital solutions are engaging and spark interesting conversation in the digital space,” said Ng.

Ng’s previous client experience includes Nokia, HP, Microsoft, American Express, Levi’s and Sony.

He pointed out that the evolving digital media landscape in China requires careful consideration.

The digital eco system is about more than just building websites. We are seeing electronic kiosks, mobile, touchscreen TVs inside taxis and social networking sites,” explained Ng.

“We are also seeing growth in online branded entertainment, and the rise of alternate reality gaming in China.” .

In addition Naomi Allan has joined Rapp Collins as senior account manager based in Shanghai.

Allan will oversee various accounts including Avis.

Prior to joining Tribal, she was with IMG Shanghai as an account manager working on Olympic marketing.
