Travel expo debuts in Vietnam

HO CHI MINH CITY The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism launched the first International Travel Expo in the city from October 7 to 9.

The show was the first of its kind in Vietnam and aimed to promote both inbound and outbound tourism. The highlights of the show included a travel exhibition by airlines, hotels, resorts and travel agents, and a presentation of destinations by local and foreign sellers. There were more than 80 booths in total. A seminar themed 'Charms of Vietnam' presented by selected provinces showcased their products to international buyers. Other regional travel destinations such as the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Hong Kong and Singapore were also featured to attract Vietnam's growing outbound market. Following the show, international buyers were taken on a familiarisation tour of the country. The show's organisers were Ho Chi Minh City's Department of Tourism, and profesional event organisers including Vinexad and Binet.
