New trade magazine Asian MobileNews is claiming to be the first to
address the mobile telecoms market.
The monthly 24-page tabloid, based in Singapore, aims to take an
analytical view of the growing mobile market. Its readership will
include carrier executives, resellers, and applications and content
developers. A controlled circulation of 8,700 is planned, with half of
that figure coming from Hong Kong and Singapore. The July launch issue
has a 12,000 print run.
The magazine is the first Asian venture by Australian publisher Charlton
Media. The rate card is USdollars 4,990 for a full-colour page.
Publisher and editor in chief Tim Charlton admitted that the telecoms
market was a tough one, but added: "The market hasn't really been served
up to now - it's been lumped in with the main telecoms market, but it's
really a separate business."
