Towngas delivers warmth to Hong Kongers for 150th anniversary campaign

HONG KONG - The Hong Kong and China Gas Company, better known as Towngas, has launched a 150th-anniversary campaign, created by DDB, to reinforce the longevity of the utility's services.

Towngas delivers warmth to Hong Kongers for 150th anniversary campaign

The campaign marks the first work DDB has developed since winning the Towngas account last year after a two-way competitive pitch.

Running with the tagline ‘warming everyday life’ and featuring Towngas staff, the campaign expresses goodwill from Towngas to the people of Hong Kong from all walks of life for the last 150 years.

Comprising a TVC and print ads, the campaign reminds Hong Kongers with busy metropolitan lifestyles not to forget about simple enjoyments in life that bring us warmth and happiness.

Towngas was established in 1862 with a modest beginning to light the street lamps of Hong Kong—a scene depicted in the TVC.

The TVC will run on terrestrial TV channels: TVB (Jade, Pearl & tvb.com), Cable TV, and Now TV. Print ads will run in the Oriental Daily, Apple Daily, Sing Tao Daily, Ming Pao Daily, HKET, Wen Wei Po, Headline Daily and AM730.

The campaign portrays Towngas’ "caring image and long heritage", said Wong Sau-ying, head of corporate communications of Towngas.

Jeffry Gamble, ECD of DDB Group Hong Kong and Guangzhou added that he felt the campaign was "energetic, progressive, and visionary".
