The highly respected ex-Starcom IP director joined MindShare last June along with Benjamin Yeow to run its digital operations.
Lee had been servicing two key clients, DBS and Samsung, and had a brief to “inject digital thinking into everyone in the agency”, said Jeffrey Seah, the CEO of MindShare Singapore.
MindShare had won a series of accounts after Lee and Yeow took charge including interactive duties for Sentosa Development Corporation. The agency also won an account to provide consulting services to internet telephony provider Media Ring.
Sources suggest that Lee plans to set up his own digital media firm, although for now he will be taking a sabbatical in China.
Agencies, including independent digital shop Qais Consulting, are believed to be trying to secure Lee’s services.
