Tom leads raft of new hires at TBWA

HONG KONG - TBWA has announced several new hires in Hong Kong and China aimed at ramping up its creative and account servicing departments.

In Hong Kong, the network has hired Eight Partnership executive creative director Patrick Tom for the newly-created head of art and group creative director role.

Tom, who was previously at Publicis and Saatchi & Saatchi Hong Kong, the latter a three-year stint as head of art, has also spent almost 15 years in the US with a number of agencies, includingFCB, Bozell Worldwide and Poppe Tyson.

“Patrick’s role will see him working on the most important jobs at any given time; he’ll work with the creative directors and the art directors to add substance and beautify our work. And he’ll work with me when I’m not managing,” said TBWA Hong Kong executive creative director Mark Ringer, to whom Tom will
report.

Tom will effectively take a number two role in the creative department.

Meanwhile, in China, Richard Cotton has joined as group account director in  Shanghai, where he will lead the network’s McDonald’s and Nivea accounts. Cotton joins from TBWA London, where he spent eight years working on the Virgin Megastore, Habitat and Waterstones brands, among others.
