The revival of the International Advertising Association (IAA)

chapter in Hong Kong under the leadership of Mr Michael Toedman of

Business Week has received special mention from IAA executive director

Richard Corner.

Mr Corner told MEDIA the Hong Kong chapter, which once was moribund and

now has 75 members, was "a shining example of extraordinary activity"

and praised Mr Toedman for his "market to product" approach.

Meanwhile, the IAA is re-examining its approach in Asia under new

vice-president and area director Kazuo Miyakawa, managing director of

Dentsu in Tokyo.

The IAA is strongly committed to education and is discussing university

accreditation for advertising courses in Hong Kong.

It also supports freedom of commercial speech, including on the

Internet.
