Todd Sampson becomes CEO of Leo Burnett Sydney

SYDNEY - Todd Sampson (pictured) has been named as the new head of the agency's Sydney operation, replacing Tim Castree as chief executive.

Sampson has worked as head of strategic planning at Leo Burnett Sydney since 2002. He is noted as being one of a small number in Australia to attain the role of chief executive from a strategic background.

Sampson joined D’Arcy Australia in 1999 from DDB Cape Town, leading the merger of D’Arcy with Leo Burnett in 2003. In his tenure at Leo Burnett, Sampson has been recognised for building a highly respected strategy department. He recently won the gold award for best consumer insight at the Account Planning Group (APG) awards and the silver award for best overall strategy.

In taking on the new role, Sampson commented that his goal was to make Leo Burnett Australia one of the world’s most awarded creative agencies.
